Thanks for checking out my project and getting to know me better.
I first discovered Flyff when I saw someone PK another player as a psykeeper at my local gaming cafe. Intrigued, I spoke with them and found out the name of the game. I was instantly hooked. I made my account and set off on my journey as a freshly spawned vagrant. Over the years, as I grew up, I continued to play Flyff religiously through all its different versions and patches. Each update, I made sure to always reach the cap and explore everything I could, including making friends and creating memories along the way. At the time, I had never heard of private servers for Flyff, nor had I played any of them—I was a retail baby. Eventually, I did try a few different private servers, but they never gave me the same feeling that official servers did, and they never lasted long anyway. Fast forward to a few years ago, Flyff had moved through different publishers. During one of these migrations, I was on a break from the game. Sadly, this break caused me to lose all of my progress and characters. Despite providing overwhelming proof, support was unable to recover any of them. This loss marked a turning point for me, leading me back to the private server scene.
I began searching for a server that would fit my needs—a regular server like retail but without all the issues that plagued the official servers. It was no secret that Flyff, in the latter part of its lifespan, suffered heavily from exploiters, botters, cheaters, real money trading, terrible game decisions, and an increasingly "Pay2Win" and "Cash Grabbing" environment pushed by the publishers.
Trying out many different servers led to disappointment after disappointment. The Flyff private server scene is plagued with tons of destructive issues such as:
- Somehow an even more extreme Pay2Win environment than the official game publishers.
- Reducing the core game to nothing, making everything that made Flyff an MMORPG into some trivial thing.
- Rates jacked up so much that you would hit max level within moments.
- Stats so inflated that your damage and health would be in the millions and billions.
- "Custom" features and content that do not fit Flyff or turn it into a completely different game.
- Still plagued by botters, exploiters, and people selling penya/perin for real-world money.
- Above everything else, none of the servers felt legitimate. All of them felt like I was on some cheap copy of the game.
My vision for this project is to create a balanced, authentic Flyff experience where the core essence of the game is preserved. This means:
- Fair Play Environment: Eliminating Pay2Win elements to ensure that all players have a fair chance to progress and enjoy the game without spending any amount of money.
- Balanced Gameplay: Maintaining reasonable experience rates and stat growth to keep the challenge and excitement of leveling up.
- Authentic Features: Keeping the core features that make Flyff an MMORPG while making necessary updates to enhance gameplay without straying from the original spirit of the game.
- Community Focus: Building a strong, active community where players can form friendships and make memories, much like I did during my early years in Flyff.
- Robust Backend: Implementing strong measures and fixes to combat botters, exploiters, and real-world money traders, ensuring a fair and enjoyable experience for everyone.
This is who I am and where I'm at today. This project represents a dream of mine and if you are reading this, you are apart of turning it into a reality. Thank you once again for playing on my server and keeping this game alive.
